Office Hours: Career Pathways for PhDs with Dr. Micah Lomax

Micah Lomax is currently a Marketing Research Manager at Meta, focusing on new product launches on the Messenger app. His work and team focus on areas like privacy, safety, and security in the tech space, bringing communities closer together through communication, and innovation within the messaging landscape. He is passionate about bringing diverse voices together to not only strengthen research, but also to build products that look like the users who will adopt them across the globe. Micah and his fiancé Kevin, live in San Diego California, and in their free time enjoy traveling, attending concerts, and preparing to welcome their first child, a baby girl, in January 2023. Micah is an avid member of his local chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and plays for local church services in and around San Diego. Micah holds a PhD in Music Theory and Composition from the Florida State University, where his dissertation used computational analysis to identify stylistic trends and patterns in the mass songs of Sergei Prokofiev.
